After my break down running out of gas, I realized I needed something to bring this thing around so I can do fun drives with it and not be terrifie d for hours on end of having to keep a tow truck on call. A fter a few months wait, it has finally arrived. The 3 wheeler fits perfectly.
I have some e track and tie downs to make it secure, as well as a new headlight so it doesn’t look sad all the time. Now I’ll actually be able to take it places! I’ll have it at Redmond’s Exotics in a few weeks time. I’m really loo king forward to that.

This means your Morgan will be parked in the “ steal me” positi on. Do what you can to secure that trailer.

By the way, what is the story regarding the engine mounted lights. I like the look but I can’t imagine that is good for cooling an a air cooled engine. Is that a factory approved location? Below is the factory location.

Nice. Does the Morgan have enough weight on the rear wheel to give you enough tongue weight on the trailer in backward like that? It almost looks like most of the weight is behind the axle, which would make for an, um, exciting towing experience. That is a mistake I made only one time loading a trailer.

In 2016 they switched the headlight position much to the chagrin of future owners. It was mandated by new DOT law for delivery but customers could be the preexisting light bar and wiring for an extra thousand and have the dealer put it back to your photo. I'd rather spend that money elsewhere.

I definitely am going to flip it around the other way, weight distro is 61/39 front bias, with passengers it sits at 50/50

Good point. I believe the rule of thumb is 15% of trailer weigh or more on tongue. Trust me, you do not want less.

Hmmm, so your location is the pre -’16 position?

Just asking because I am confused. The image I posted above is off Morgan’s website and shows the outboard position which is the same as I have always seen it. So you are saying that they now put the lights on the engine?

I found your configuration. It’s a Classic Edition. Cool.

http://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/431252/1 H ere is way more info then you’ll want, I forgot to mention it is only US Spec. Eventually I’ll convert mine back to the headlight configuration of old days. The interesting part here is that headlights have stopped melting now since they aren’t close to the exhaust anymore.

Thanks for the link. Interesting. Actually I kind of like the look in photos. Nice to know the story.

This whole year has been a very obscured learning process, so ask away there are some very strange decisions when it comes to these.

Small world in that I live down the road from Viola Wis, home of S&S the maker of your engine. The owner gave me a tour in 2014 and I saw the Morgan development mule of the 3 wheeler. Their biggest difficulty was dampening engine pulses that were damaging the miata transmissions used.
Their second biggest was cylinder head cooling, hence my questions about the headlight placements. I understand since that time I understand they have added th e shroud between the cylinders to direct air to the back side.
